Africa Calling’s selected operators in Tanzania are specialist tour operators, at the forefront of organising tours into East & Central Africa. These market leaders have been arranging climbs up Kilimanjaro, Mt Kenya and the Rwenzoris since 1990 and have just celebrated their 16th anniversary. To date (November 2008), over 8000 people have taken to “Kili” through the company (since 1993), with a higher than average success rate of about 95% to the top! The average is 60% or less. Africa Calling offers a wide range of possibilities from the most common Marangu route (also known as the “Coca-Cola route”), to the more unknown (but as spectacular), Machame and Umbwe routes.
