The Africa Calling Training Academy has been training both local and International students in the art of field guiding for the last few years. A private concession area in the Kruger National Park is our training facility for this course.
Our wilderness camp is situated on a Concession in the Kruger National Park. The camp is surrounded by an electric fence and comprises 25 dome safari style tents. The tents are on wooden platforms. The canvas allows learners to co-exist with the environment, hearing elephants browsing on leaves or hearing the nightjars call. This is all part of the learning experience. The tents contain 2 beds, a table and 2 chairs.
Sleeping arrangements are 2 students per tent. The camp does not have electricity, however lights are powered off a solar panel and there are hot showers. Single sex ablutions contain 2 toilets, 2 showers and a basin each.
The theory is covered in lectures in the training venue and practical time is spent in the bush on a private concession in Kruger National Park. Please note that the course involves studying and weekly tests are written. You need to be prepared to study! Interested in the course – take a look at the full programme.
