The project is a humanitarian organization serving vulnerable, poor and orphaned children and their families in a holistic way. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work in all five main human need areas and experience the fulfilling and content feeling of changing someone’s destiny.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Volunteers will support community members in the Modjadji area in the Limpopo Province, which consists of several villages. The Limpopo province is one of the poorest provinces in South Africa with an official figure of 67.7% of the population living below the “bread-line”.
Each volunteer will receive a detailed weekly schedule to be followed. After the first week has been completed, volunteers may choose which part of the project they most prefer and may continue to work exclusively at that particular project (if the project is running for the duration of the volunteer’s stay), or they may continue to assist throughout the project (all different aspects).
The volunteers will stay on a farm with the van Rooyen family in their own house. The house consist of two single rooms, a four bed room and a “couples” room; kitchen, living and eating area and bathroom. Volunteers will be responsible for helping themselves to provided breakfast and lunch. Dinner will be provided.
The project is divided over 3 different programs
