Responsible Tourism Practices: The volunteer project is a low impact form of tourism that neither creates nor adds to stress on the local resources or environment than what is created by the full-time owner(s) of the project. All monies except for marketing fees/ commissions goes into the reserve and the local economy directly, therby helping to provide financial assistance to protect the land and to small businesses in the area. All elements of the project are carried out to minimise impact on the environment for example; use of fuels for transport is kept low as possible, as well as sustainable refuge clearing is orgaised by ourselves.
Additional Notes
The project has dogs at the farmhouse where the volunteers stay. Although they are friendly anyone who has an allergy or fear of dogs may not find this project suitable. Dogs are not allowed in the volunteer bedrooms.
